A lap-loving companion, this tiny toy breed usually doesn't grow much taller than 11 inches at the shoulders. Affectionate, calm and intelligent, the Mi-Ki thrives in homes large or small, with everyone from seniors to children (with the appropriate supervision).
Like the Chihuahua, this breed has an apple-domed head with a small soft spot, called a 'molera.' Thickly feathered ears are a trademark of the Mi-Ki, standing erect or dropped down. This dark-eyed breed has two coat types: The smooth coat is medium length with slight feathering on the ears, legs and tail, but no mustache or beard. The long coat has fine, silky, straight hair with long feathering on the ears, legs and tail, often with a beard and mustache. Regular grooming at least weekly is vital. This sweet-natured breed is eager to please and therefore quickly trained. The Mi-Ki is said to be somewhat cat-like and it likes to sun itself.
